How does the ViroCLEAR disinfectant fogger work?
Working much like a cockroach bomb or flea bomb, at the touch of a button, the room disinfectant air fogger dispenses a fine mist of antimicrobial protection, which coats surfaces and creates a protective barrier against bacteria and viruses.
While both products work by releasing a mist or fog into the room, it's important to note that they are designed for different purposes. What makes ViroCLEAR unique?
By leveraging the power of Mother Nature, the inventor, Ross Macdougald from BioInnovate, was able to create a plant-based, non-toxic disinfectant spray for rooms that is safe to use around children, pregnant women and the elderly.
He discovered that by adding chamomile and extracts of native lemon bush to the formulation, he could reduce the active ingredient of benzalkonium chloride (BKC) to just 0.12% w/w – the same level as used in eye lens solutions and nasal sprays. In comparison, many other sanitisers include up to 2.1% w/w of BKC which can lead to skin sensitisation, and with continued use, can be corrosive on the surfaces they are meant to treat.

“With the present level of staff shortages across Australia, anything that lightens the load on workers and allows them to work more efficiently is a welcome addition in anyone’s books. Plus, it’s all very well to clean surfaces, but the ViroCLEAR disinfectant fogger also cleans the air you breathe by killing airborne pathogens, something not ordinarily possible with a sanitiser,” he says.
