    Directions for use

    Limitations of use

    • Do not use it for respiratory protection against unknown atmospheric contaminants or when concentrations of contaminants are unknown or immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH).
    • Do not use it in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen. (3M definition. Individual countries may apply their own limits on oxygen deficiency. Seek advice if in doubt).
    • Do not use it against contaminants with poor warning properties.
    • The filter cannot be cleaned and should be replaced if excessively dirty.
    • Keep the inner filter seal clean. The seal can be cleaned with fresh water but ensure that water does not enter the filter.
    • Never attempt to clean filters by knocking or blowing out accumulated material.

    Service Life

The lifespan of these filters depends on several factors, including duration of use, the selected airflow rate, and the concentration of airborne particulates in the environment. The air filter unit is equipped with both visual and audible alarms to monitor the filter’s condition.

An indicator on the control panel shows the current status of the particle filter, and a warning alarm will activate when the filter reaches capacity. At this point, the filter must be replaced with a new one to maintain effective respiratory protection.

    Storage Instructions

    • Store in the original packaging in a dry and clean environment.
    • Keep away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, petrol, and solvent vapours.
    • Do not store outside the temperature range of -30ºC to +50ºC or in humidity levels above 90%.
    • For extended storage, maintain a temperature range of 4ºC to 38ºC.

Always verify that the product is within its stated shelf life or use-by date prior to initial use. Proper storage ensures the product remains effective and ready for use when needed.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between P2 and P3 filters?

The primary difference between P2 and P3 filters lies in their filtration efficiency and the level of protection they provide:

    • P2 Filters: These are designed to capture at least 94% of airborne particles, including dust, mist, and fumes. They are suitable for moderate-risk environments, such as construction sites or general industrial tasks, where exposure to fine particulates is present but not extremely high.
    • P3 Filters: These offer a higher level of protection, capturing at least 99.95% of airborne particles. P3 filters are recommended for high-risk environments involving very fine, hazardous particulates, such as asbestos, toxic dust, or biologically active materials. They are also effective against mechanically and thermally generated particles, making them ideal for demanding applications like mining, chemical processing, and healthcare settings.

Additionally, P3 filters often provide a higher assigned protection factor (APF) compared to P2 filters, meaning they reduce exposure to airborne hazards to a much greater extent. The choice between a P2 and P3 filter depends on the level of exposure and the type of contaminants present in the environment.

Always consult safety standards or guidelines to determine the appropriate filter for your needs.

How do I know when to replace the P3 filter?

The air filter unit includes visual and audible alarms to notify you when the filter is full and needs to be replaced.

Can I clean or reuse this P3 filter?

No, this is a disposable filter and should be replaced when indicated by the respirator system or if it shows visible wear.
