    Directions for use
    How to Use
    1. Before applying sunscreen, make sure your skin is dry and free from any moisture, sweat, or other skincare products.
    2. Apply the sunscreen approximately 20 minutes before heading outdoors. This gives it enough time to absorb into your skin and offers optimal sun defence. Patience pays off!
    3. For an average-sized adult, it's recommended to use about 35ml of sunscreen for full coverage - equivalent to one teaspoon of sunscreen for each arm, leg, front of body, back of body, and face (including the neck and ears).
    4. Take a sufficient amount of sunscreen in your hand and apply it to one area of your body at a time. Gently massage it into your skin using circular motions, making sure to cover all exposed areas. Don't neglect the often-overlooked areas like the ears and neck!

Note: Avoid prolonged sun exposure, and never rely on sunscreen alone for protection. Wear protective clothing, including a broad-brim hat, use UV-protective eyewear/sunglasses, and seek shade whenever possible.

    Warning

When using the Cancer Council Face Day Wear Moisturiser Water Resistant Sunscreen, please take note of the following precautions:

Not for infants under 6 months: This sunscreen is not suitable for babies under 6 months old. For sun protection advice for infants, please consult a healthcare professional.

Avoid contact with eyes and broken skin: Keep sunscreen away from your eyes to prevent irritation. Additionally, refrain from applying it to broken or damaged skin areas.

Watch for skin irritation: If you experience any skin irritation while using sunscreen, rinse the affected area thoroughly with water. Discontinue use immediately if the irritation persists and seek medical advice if necessary.

Always read the label. Follow the directions for use.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the sunscreen last?

The sunscreen typically lasts for about 2 hours.

Over time, the sunscreen's efficacy may diminish due to factors like sweat, water exposure, rubbing, or natural wear-off. To maintain optimal sun protection, it is recommended to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours or more frequently if you are swimming, sweating heavily, or towel-drying.

How to wash off the sunscreen?

Rinse your face or body with lukewarm water. This helps to loosen the sunscreen and any other impurities on your skin. Choose a mild, non-irritating cleanser suitable for your skin type. Gently massage the cleanser onto your skin in circular motions then rinse thoroughly.

Double cleanse (if necessary): The Cancer Council sunscreens are water-resistant sunscreens, so, it's best to do a deeper clean. You can follow up with a second cleanse using cleansing oil or micellar water. This can help to ensure all traces of sunscreen are fully removed.

    What UV level requires sunscreen?

Sunscreen should be applied daily when the UV index is 3 or higher, which is considered the threshold for sunburn risk. In Australia, UV levels often reach 3 or higher even on cloudy or overcast days.
